Upcoming event ... 9 & 11 February 2012
This is an exciting opportunity for me. The Mechanic's Institute has been connected to the cable cars since their beginning. The Institute's first president was Andrew Hallidie, the inventor of the cable cars, and his report on the inspiration for building them (a carriage accident on Nob Hill) is housed in the library itself.
Thursday, February 9

On February 11th, I will be in my home town, at the First Street Wine Company in downtown Livermore. I'll be reading excerpts from Everywhere Man and discuss the creation of the tour and other Invisible City projects. I'm sure wine will be available, so that should be plenty of reason to make it out to the revitalized Livermore downtown for this event
Who knows, maybe I'll drop in to the nearby Livermore Saloon afterwards to see how it's changed since my underage self sneaked in twenty-five years ago...
Saturday, February 11
