| Trendy drinks now served at Silicon Valley bars was inspired in an airport bar two years ago, waiting for my plane to arrive. I sucked down a beer and wracked my brains for a good list. The topic literally sat in front of me. Even better: the more I drank, the more the idea appealed to me. Sadly, the companies and people I poked fun of two years ago have not changed. Everyone still sucks up to Bill Gates (but snickers behind his back when some Belgian comedian throws a pie in his face); Apple is still on a financial rollercoaster (with the pundit's approval/disapproval rating reflecting quarterly earnings); and Java is still a development bear. The next time someone complains about this industry changing so rapidly, send them here. | ||||||||
